When I arrived Pyin Oo Lwin, it was around 12:00 pm. It took only one and half hour to reach Pyin Oo Lwin from Mandalay. I requested to car driver not to drive so fast on the way as motor cycles, carts, bikes and animals just came out accidentally and they didn't even care the cars. When I saw deep steeps as my car approached to take over the other cars from the left most side, I was so scare. Yeah I scare of heights. But I don't scare of flying on plane. haha what a strange !!! May be it is because of the fact that my daddy was a pilot and I used to go by planes many times since I was so young.
When my car was getting closer to Pyin Oo Lwin, the weather had changed obviously. The air was getting cool and fresh. As this city lies in mountains, its weather is much better than Mandalay. People come to Pyin Oo Lwin especially in Summer to run away for the heat and city's noises. Many foreigners also visit Pyin Oo Lwin for its nice climate and interesting buildings which were built during British colonization in Myanmar. The British government built made Pyin Oo Lwin as a resort city.
There are many things why I love Pyin Oo Lwin. First one is its weather which is cold and atmosphere is always fresh. Second is its pine trees and beautiful flowers blossoming all year round. There are many plant nurseries and flower shops at Pyin Oo Lwin. That is why Pyin Oo Lwin is also known as " Pan Myo Taw = flowers' city ". Coffee is also a famous product of Pyin Oo Lwin. You can see many coffee plantations alongside the roads and on the hills. Fresh brewed coffee from coffee shops of Pyin Oo Lwin is unforgettable. People in Pyin Oo Lwin earn their living mostly from planting. Pyin Oo Lwin has many large diary farms where the products of Milk are mainly sold. Strawberry and Avocado are famous seasonal fruits of Pyin Oo Lwin. You can just go to strawberry farm, pick the strawberries yourself and they will make you very fresh strawberry juice or strawberry milk shake for you.
Okiee let me continue my story :D. As soon as we arrived Pyin Oo Lwin, the first thing I had to do is to put on my woolen coat which was bought from Diamond Plaza, Mandalay. Then we went directly to a restaurant which is famous for its Shan and Chinese foods. I had a bowl of Wonton soup. Eating a bowl of soup with green vegetables in cold weather was so great you know :D. There are many good restaurants with great taste of foods in Pyin Oo Lwin. Here are some I know.
For one night stay, we chose " Peace Land " hotel which is just next to " Nan Myaing " hotel which is famous for its ghost stories :D. The owner of peace land hotel is my daddy's friend. So whenever we go to Pyin Oo Lwin, we stay at Peace Land. It is Ok. Their service is good and people are helpful. Rooms are good. But I dont like their bath rooms. Me and my mom decided not to stay there when we come to Pyin Oo Lwin next times. We think we should try another good hotel like " Royal Reward Resort ". I heard the price of that hotel is not so much. We just want the rooms to be hygienic and all the bed room stuffs sterilized.
I went to many plant nurseries with my mom. My mom bought flower pots and plants from two nurseries. There was no space left for extra baggage after setting up her plants on car.
We went to many coffee plantations and learned how coffee was planted and to produce coffee seeds. This time we didnt go to " pwal kout waterfall " and " kandawgyi botanical garden" where flowers festival was being held that time.I think I will take more time to visit Pyin Oo Lwin next time. My mind was totally rejuvenated after visiting Pyin Oo Lwin.
When we passed Mandalay, we went to " amara pura " and bought handmade fabrics. What I came to know after buying the fabrics was that the people from " amara pura " are so nice, so warm and friendly. The house was also running a tea shop. Then I saw that the customers came to that teashop was just drinking tea or milk. No snacks or cakes were not at teashop. :S . No sound speakers. No posters. People just come and have tea then go back home :D. Quite different from Yangon culture. The owner of the house was a lady who might be in her early fifty and she was chewing betel in her mouth. Her mouth was totally red because of betel and she spoke to me so loudly. Her daughters were all well educated and they were beautiful. They were said to be " Nyo Chaw ". The daughters were helping their home's business and they seemed like they love each other so much. Its rare to see such family in these days.
When I arrived back home, It was around 9:00 pm. Then I repacked my baggage and checked all things I bought during my trip. That is a nature of all girls :D.No matter how we feel tired, our mind is still so active to see what we like and what we love!!!
Good Night ! I can't write anymore. ZzzzZzzzzz......

Eating a bowl of soup with green vegetables in cold weather was so great you know :D. There are many good restaurants with great taste of foods in Pyin Oo Lwin. Here are some I know.
- Feel restaurant. Its is situate near Kan Daw Gyi. Thai foods are available there. As the vegetables from Pyin Oo Lwin are so fresh, " Feel " makes their dishes delicious and healthy. It is also famous for its place where you can have the view of lake and fresh air passing through water.
- Wood Land cafe'. Its is situated on Kan Daw Gyi road (sorry I dont remember exactly. Its a main road). They sell Thai foods and varieties of coffee. Taste of the foods is great. There is also a liquor bar where many kinds of liquor are available. I love the most about this coffee shop is its decoration composed of western and eastern culture. Even there is a piano on which any guest can play anytime. That is really wonderful !
- Lay Ngoon. It is situated on Mandalay-Lashio main road. Its Chinese restaurant. The owner seems to be a Chinese. People say " stewed pork " from Lay Ngoon is the best in Myanmar. haha they are exaggerating !!! If you order " stewed pork ", you will get shock by the size of bowl that comes in front of you. It is really big bowl which is enough for 4 or 5 people. One thing I don't like about that restaurant is that we had to wait for so long. For us, we preferred trying local foods like Shan foods than Chinese foods.
- Sweet Farm. It is also situated on the right side of Mandalay-Lashio main road. But the place near by "ah nee sa khan". It has its own farm and plantation. Thai foods are available. Grilled chicken is a famous one of Sweet Farm. The other Thai foods are also delicious.
- Htee Hlaing.I dont know how to call its place but I know its place :P. You can have various fresh juices and salads. Fresh juices like strawberry shake is quite famous for its freshness and taste. You can pick up the strawberries from their farm and they will serve you very fresh strawberry milk shake. Prices are not expensive there. Taste of the salads are not so bad. Just Ok. Good place to chitchat with friends and have fresh juice.
- Golden Triangle Coffee Shop. Its just situated in downtown and quite famous for its coffee.
- December Farm. Its is situated on the left side of Mandalay-Lashio main road and a bit far from downtown. It has very large farm. You can see both cows and blossoming flowers at one place. A good place to take photos as well :D. At evening time, seeing the smoke that comes from burning hays and cows will give you a real feeling of countryside. The food I like the most there is " san pyar paung ", in which " myu leaves " and small pieces of chicken are mixed and wrapped with big rice flat .very very delicious! Milk from December farm is so creamy and fresh.
- Pan Sai. Its situated on the right side of Mandalay-Lashio main road. Its a small open restaurant selling Shan and Chinese foods. Although its decoration is not so good, the taste of the foods are amazing. Price is so reasonable. You recommend you to try noodles like " Shan noodle or Tofu nway " or rice with curries mixing with Shan and Chinese styles.
